Oxford’s award winning local radio station FM107.9 is getting “up close and personal” with Oxford yet again and this time it really is life changing. FM107.9 has joined forces with the Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust to talk directly to local teenagers about their health, how to improve it and how to maintain it. As well as the news team presenting a full week of information, FM107.9 is taking Anna and Adam hosts of ‘The Breakfast Fiasco’ - out of the studio and into schools and colleges with ‘The Way I Are’tour.

The FM107.9 Breakfast Fiasco team will be visiting ten schools in the Oxford area with a fun and interactive ‘info-tainment’ quiz show. The focus is on healthy eating and exercise, talking directly to young adults at an important point in their lives and giving them the information they need to improve their health while they are still young, and maintain those practices and attitudes. The response from schools has already been overwhelmingly positive. It’s a unique way of presenting such an important message, and exactly why the Oxfordshire PCT came to Oxford ’s FM107.9 for help.
Ian Walker , programme director for Oxford’s FM107.9 said: ‘The Way I Are’ shows how powerful
and effective local radio is at getting through to teenagers in the Oxford area. Local radio isn’t just about playing great music, it’s also about making a link to the local community. Interacting with our audience is what we’re good at - it’s even better when we do something that may really change their lives.’
JACK fm has done it again! Oxfordshire’s new local radio station is set to launch the UK’s ONLY airborne “traffic spotting” service. THE FLYING JACK, sponsored by Guy Salmon Jaguar, will fly every day to give the County the best possible local traffic information service.

The Flying Jack will be taking off daily from Oxford Airport, currently undergoing ambitious expansion, bringing back to Oxfordshire a real “all-round” travel service for the first time in years.
Ian Walker, General Manager of JACK fm says “We asked the people of Oxfordshire and they told us that improved traffic reports are definitely something they want. Initially it’ll be airborne during the Morning Glory breakfast show, but soon we’ll be flying in the afternoons and weekends as well”.

Alex Scott, Dealer Principal, from sponsor Guy Salmon Jaguar says “We are delighted to sponsor the Flying Jack, we hope we can help and to make life easier for the motorists of Oxfordshire.”
The Flying Jack is owned and operated by JACK fm’s travel supplier Global Traffic Network UK, whose sister companies in Australia and Canada have been flying traffic reporters over the jams for more than ten years. They use the airborne views alongside sensor, camera and Police information to gather the best traffic information on the radio.
